Peter McAtamney | Principal

 

In 2003, Peter founded Wine Business Solutions, a multinational consulting company specialising in the wine industry. Peter has 26 years wine industry experience including 11 years in global distribution management. Peter holds and has held board and advisory board positions with Australian, New Zealand, South African and Spanish companies. He has worked as a publicly listed wine company Managing Director and is a former Chairman of Wine Marlborough.   He has been part of the National Marketing committee and an alternate board member for New Zealand Winegrowers.   He has been involved with Global Strategy for some of the world's most successful brands including [yellow tail], Freixenet and Wine Marlborough.

For eight and a half years, Peter worked as Southern Hemisphere Regional Managing Director for the world's largest producer of sparkling wine, Freixenet. Peter was responsible for their Global Business Intelligence and Strategic Planning functions. He also worked in mergers in acquisitions during this time.

Peter is a highly experienced communicator. He has studied Marketing and Strategy at Columbia University. He has taught Strategy, Marketing, Sales Management, Services Marketing and Business Culture at MBA level in the UTS graduate school. He has also run the Turnaround Management education program for the TMA Australia.

John Tregambe | OH & S Associate

John Tregambe is a leader in his field with over 11 years experience in health and safety education for the corporate sector.   One of his most notable achievements is contributing to a 25% improvement in BP's (Australia, New Zealand and South West Pacific) safety performance over a two year period, when he took on the role of Health, Safety Environment and Security Learning and Development Manager for the company in 2006.

In addition to his corporate work, John is an experienced Winemaker, establishing Nillumbik Estate in the Yarra Valley in 1999, which has enjoyed steady growth over this time.

Since 2009 he has been Director of MindAtlas Health Safety and Environment, a private OHS consultancy specialising in OHS systems audits, risk assessments and innovative training design and delivery.

The unique combination of safety expertise and winemaking experience has enabled John to focus his attention on improving winery safety.


Anthony Howe | Technology Associate

Anthony Howe is one of Australia’s foremost technology entrepreneurs and educators.

He has founded and developed three successful organizations in the past10 years including 5th Finger, a company acquired by PBL Media (ninemsn) in 2005.

Anthony is an engaging speaker, presenter and facilitator having presented at many domestic and international conferences as a mobile or multimedia specialist. He was a project manager of many of Australia’s first mobile marketing and media activities for high profile brands such as the Nine Network, Sony Playstation, Nova 969, Channel V, Network TEN, Telstra, Optus, Vodafone.

Anthony has a passion for helping young entrepreneurs. He understands the complete business life‐cycle experience due to his SME background including capital raising, corporate structuring, market research and business planning; effective brand and channel management; forecasting, pricing and financial analysis; operations and delivery.

Dr Johan Bruwer | Research Associate

Johan has had the research and academic leadership role in the Wine Business Group at the world-renowned University of Adelaide for more than10 years.  He is one of the world’s foremost authorities on regional marketing,  wine event research,  the cellar door and direct mail clubs. 

During his career, Johan had conducted research for 195 companies in 35 wine regions in 6 countries.

Johan has authored more than 200 research publications, of which at least 100 are wine-specific and has conducted research on the global wine market, its drivers, consumer dynamics and regulatory aspects on every major importing, producer-exporter and most emerging markets. For example, Johan regularly does strategic research work for the Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation (AWBC) on their export market dynamics, competitive forces, etc.
